In the summer of 2015, a young filmmaker (SAOLI NGUYEN ) returns to Vietnam for the first time since leaving as a child, seventeen years prior. In Vietnam, she hopes to reunite with the large extended family she left behind, and to form a connection with the country she never really knew.
But when presented with the realities of a complicated family, in a nation with a complicated history, she struggles to overlook the vast disconnect between her present self and her origins.
